you make me feel like i'm intoxicated.
Okay, some maybe he stretched the truth a bit when he talked about their little night-time visits. But that’s just who Cain was, he was a storyteller at heart. Literature had been his joy in school and he loved to read books to experience more styles. It just translated into his life easy and plus it was fun. And boy, did he ever just love those nights in her room when they didn’t get caught. Back then he had been completely whipped, most of his friends at school make fun of him but he just laughed it off and didn’t care, at least he had a decent girlfriend. All the other guys had the school sluts and whores; hell one of them was even pregnant once. Thank god, Izzy wasn’t like those girls, and that’s why Cain loved her. Loved or Love. Past or present tense, it was still a blurred line.
A haughty, smug smile tugged at his lips when she mentioned that he was irresistibly sexy and knew all the right moves to pull on her. He knew he was good, but he didn’t know that he could practically make her melt into him with a certain touch and grin. For some reason, it was comforting to know. Cain rolled his eyes when she brought up the fact that she hid behind him because she was scared of her father. She had no idea the wide eyes, deer in the head lights stare he had when he faced her father. He was pretty sure that that man wanted to kill him. And if Izzy wasn’t standing right behind him, Cain was certain the older man would have strangled him. At least he had known her father on friendly terms when him and Izzy were just friends. His green eyes flickered with something that he hadn’t felt in a while when the memories of their rendezvous in his car were brought up. So many fond memories and kisses. He could loose that car, it had been the only piece of Izzy that he had left when he moved away. Actually that was a lie, he had another piece with a diamond on it, but that stayed in a special place that only he knew.
Even have a family? That part of what she said stunned him a bit. So she had thought about having a family with him. With him. Oh, god he hadn’t even thought that far ahead yet, thought he found that as he thought about it, he wasn’t opposed to the idea at all. A frown dragged his face down as his parents were mentioned, he nearly winced thinking about all that they could do to tear his life apart. He didn’t want to be a part of there ‘plan’ like they wanted. He was a good boy, but he wasn’t that good. “Yeah, we are okay now, but I wanted us to be okay back then. Now is different from then.” He settled back into the couch and sighed, regarding her shock of her not being there when he had wanted to say goodbye.
The cushions shifted next to him and he arched an eyebrow at her when she moved closer, his thoughts going back to the first movie night, thinking that she’d kiss him again. But she didn’t, in fact, Cain liked the comfort in her arms around him a little bit better. He stilled for a moment then relaxed at the soft touch, exhaling, "I know you were probably home, but your parents were trying to protect you from me by saying you weren't there." When the separated his eyes fell down her face to her lips and he hesitated, he hadn't thought this far ahead either, "Um, but I," he smiled and blinked back up to her eyes, reaching a hand up to brush some of her hair out of her eyes, fingers lingering a lot longer then they should, "I admittedly, looked back at your window and said 'Goodbye' before I got in the car anyways..." He hadn't realized that he had leaned closer to her, inches or inch apart, his hand by her hair slipping over her cheek. He really wanted to, but then something in his head pulled him back. A kiss couldn't fix everything, he'd need to ease into it like normal relationships, even if they weren't really normal. But he hoped that they could be. Dropping his hand he cleared his throat, "But I'm glad your back, and I'm trying to focus on the present not the past." Cain offered her a smile as he leaned back, hoping she wouldn't think too hard about why he hesitated so close to her. Truth be told, she made him nervous.
