he wasn't feeling terrible today, something just seemed off. he knew that thoughts of molly and anthony's date were flowing through his mind. knowing that the girl he was in love with was completely head over heels for a friend of his hurt him so badly. it wasn't even like he could hate tony for it. tony was a great guy. if aj himself wasn't going for his girlfriend, he would be all for tony and molly together. but it just wasn't so. he was left alone, basking in the state of his unrequited love. he held hope that maybe she would turn around and actually see how great he could be, but things weren't moving in that direction anytime soon. aj just had to bitterly enjoy their laughs together. he had to endure the sadness he held behind his smile.
the walk he was taking was simply there to refresh his mind. in many ways, he felt that one had to be completely ecstatic to want to jump in the cool waters of the ocean. that's why he refused the salt water. and the sand was probably far too hot at this point. aj didn't want to burn his feet for no reason. he looked down at his iphone, hoping someone would call to hang out, but his inbox was empty. he watched the people as the passed him by in the opposite direction. his hands were placed firmly in his pockets as he walked down the strip.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]there's no sunrise --- Millie was in the mood to go to the beach, she packed up her bag with a towel and various other things and decided to go, she was bored since her roomie was still away, and all her friends in school seemed to be studying or at home (since a few friends did not live in the dorms), and her other friends seemed to be busy too, well at least she thought that, either way she was bored and wanted to get out of the dorm. Being in the dorms was at least better than being at home, even if she did have a huge room to herself and a double bed, she liked being around her friends. Plus endless sleepovers were just the best, she loved just chilling out watching chick flicks, eating popcorn, it was awesome. She just never got bored of it that would be the thing that stayed with her forever, the memories of all her sleepovers and her friends, at least she had fun, she wasn’t good at school and more into her curricular activities because she was good at them, but that didn’t matter, she was happy, she could do what she wanted, her parents had to be proud that she was doing something with her life.
She didn’t think she would hate it at the high school, but she wouldn’t love it either. She just didn’t like school, and that was the problem. Even if she went to a school where all her friends were there, she still wouldn’t like the work, because she found it hard. Millie wasn’t stupid by any means. She just wasn’t book smart. She wasn’t intelligent in that way, she was better at cheerleading running the school newspaper, being social chair and student body president, that was what she spent her time doing. It meant she didn’t have a lot of time for homework, so teachers got mad when she said she hadn’t had time since she would then put her friends in front of homework, naturally. If she lived at home she wouldn’t get away with half the stuff she did now, and she was so glad that she was able to get away with so much, it made her feel good. What they didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them....or her for that matter, that was the way it would stay. She wanted them to butt out. And stop being so protective of her.
She walked along the pier with her bag, quite happy with the sun shining above her. she loved being in the sun, sunbathing, just spending time with her friends at the beach, that was the life for her. her friends were her life. As she walked along she saw a familiar face. Andrew....well aj as his friends called him. She knew him because one of her friends Molly, knew him and they had hung out a couple of times but not alone. She walked up to him and smiled hey...hows it going? she asked enjoying the sun? she asked with a smile. I can’t get enough of it.

"hey there, mill!" aj had a habit of shortening everyone's names. molly was molls, anthony was tone, and everyone he ever spoke to usually had an easy one syllable nickname that he could form. while the girl usually went by millie, he had chosen to call her by something even shorter. the grin that he formed when he saw the girl sunk slightly when she asked if he was enjoying the sun. for once, andrew wasn't splashing out in the waves. he refused himself the feeling of having the sand between his toes. "nahh." he shrugged in response. he didn't want to seem too somber that he forgot his stuff back at home. or that the decision to forget his things was a completely conscious one. "i didn't bring my suit to the beach today." he gave the girl an exaggerated frown as he tugged on the sides of his cargo pants.
the girl was obviously ready to hit the beach and he felt bad that he couldn't join her. there was probably some point where he would give in and just jump in the salt water in his pants. maybe he would even strip down to his boxers and dive in. it wasn't like it was illegal. bathing suits were practically fortified underwear. "i'm assuming you're ready to catch some rays?" he asked with a smile, pointing to the bag she had obviously packed for some fun in the sun.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]there's no sunrise --- She smiled. Millies friends had loads of names for her, but aj seemed to be the only one who called her mill. She didn’t mind it, millie wasn’t fussy when it came to names, she didn’t even mind all that much being called Amelia, but hardly anyone actually did call her that. she preferred millie anyway and that was what people who really knew her called her so it was cool. she didn’t mind about the other names just as long as they weren’t rude or offensive towards her she didn’t care. She was easy like that. it didn’t really matter to her.
oh that sucks she said with a small smile you could always go in the sea with your clothes on? I’ve done it before she grinned. of course you can’t really sunbathe with your clothes on.... she trailed off sorry, I must sound like, so dumb she said brushing some hair away from her face. She could be really stupid sometimes and just ended up saying things that were blonde, stereotypical...she totally was. It was her own fault as well, she could come out with some really stupid comments sometimes, but that was just who she was, it wasn’t like she could change that easily.
so, where are your friends? I thought you were all usually joined at the hip she smiled. Often molly spoke about them, and millie listened. She didn’t mind most of the kids there, hey, her best friends went there, it wasn’t like she was an uber snob, but she could be quite snobby and some people did not like that, but she was the type of girl who would try and change her ways for the better. She was always trying to please people, apart from the ‘other’ popular crowd who millie did not like. The main girl of that crew had a serious dislike for her and she didn’t even have a reason. It was so stupid. Millie had never done anything to her.
Millie really wanted to go on the beach, but she didn’t want to be rude and leave him do you want to come on the beach? Hang out? we could get ice cream she smiled at him. okay she didnt know anyone in their right mind who would turn down ice cream, honestly...she loved the stuff, but she knew it was bad. Her parents didn’t really approve of her having it but she did anyway. Not to rebel, just so she could be a normal kid and experience normal stuff.
