ABOUT THE CHARACTER

appearance Tommy takes good care of himself. Even on lazy days, he always makes it a point to dress well, even if that doesn't mean putting on much clothing. He's got a pretty vague sense of modesty, to be blunt. Not that many people mind, since he keeps himself in such good shape. Tommy wakes up every morning at 5 AM, and gets in a good work out before he even eats breakfast. Then there's also the training for the baseball team to keep him fit. There's no shortage of excercise in Tommy's life. Tommy looks good, he knows it, and he likes to show it off.
personality After growing up in Roseville, Iowa (aka: the back yard of nowhere), with all the simple, small minded farmboys, Tommy is ecstatic to be free. Of course, he's just starting to realize that he is one of those farmboys, compared to all the people who've lived in the great cities all their lives. Even though Tommy is outgoing by nature, he's also rather intimidated by his new surroundings.
Also, Tommy has just come out of the closet. He'd decided after an ugly incident back home in which an openly gay boy was assaulted and put into the hospital by some of Tommy's former team-mates that he would wait to come out until he was in college. And now he's here. Of course, Tommy doesn't fit in well with the more metropolitan gay community, and he finds the whole scene just a little offputting, but he's also never been able to be around so many of "his own kind" before.
Loyalty is one trait that Tommy holds very highly. He will never betray a friend, or fail to be there when he's needed, and he expects the same from others. Similarly, Tommy hates lying, which is yet another reason that he's thrilled to be out of Roseville. Two-faced liars and false friends had better give Tommy a wide birth, because he'll have nothing to do with them. His trust, once lost, is almost impossible to regain.
