this friday night we'll do it all again | Another movie night, the last one went okay...it could have gone better but it was okay. She didn’t know how it could have gone better, just that she knew it could have gone better, but then it could have gone a whole lot worse, she didn’t know what she really expected to happen, it wasn’t like she wanted to just jump into a relationship again. She needed some time to figure things out. Plus it wasn’t like they could get into anything, he was going to be a teachers assistant in her college, in one of the classes she was going to be taking. His father had been on at her recently but she had chosen to ignore him just because of what he had put her friend though, she didn’t want to associate herself with that, and plus she hadn’t really wanted to do it anyway, she knew it had been wrong. As long as she broke off all ties with him it would work and he will never know. Maybe she should even change her number, but that seemed like too much effort. She didn’t want him to find out though, she knew it had been wrong from the start and him finding out would just throw everything off and mess everything that they had up.
She took a shower, chose an outfit and did her make up, but she never usually put loads of make up on, she didn’t see the point because she didn’t like to be so made up. Yes, for modelling shoots of course she did, but not for anything casual like this was. All it was were two friends hanging out. Of course she made more effort than she usually would do, she put foundation on and mascara, then a little bit of lip gloss and that was all she needed, she looked in the mirror and smiled at herself. She didn’t really have that much confidence in herself that she was really gorgeous, she knew she was pretty but not like other people thought she was. but since other people around her sure thought as well it gave her that much more confidence which she needed, for herself and her career. She knew that models needed to be confident, and a lot of the girls she met while doing jobs were so much more confident than herself, she never got jealous though because she really wasn’t a jealous person.
She locked up her dorm room, grabbing a few of her movies and then went onto his place, she thought about picking up some wine on the way but decided against it, she didn’t want him to think that she was seducing him or anything because that wasn’t really the case. She would just leave that to fate and see what happened. If anything did happen then okay...and if it didn’t happen that was okay too, she had kissed him before, but nothing else had happened. She never usually made the first move, she was shy about that kind of thing, but it had been in the moment and she had felt bad because she’d never given him a chance to explain when she just broke it off. She parked her car and walked up to his place not sure if he had a house or apartment she rang the doorbell and then turned the doorknob to see if the place was unlocked. She smiled when it was. She walked over to where he was and smiled. So I know Beverly Hills is probably like, really safe, but you should really check your door still she smiled I brought a few movies, hope you don’t mind. She did have kind of an obsession with Channing Tatum, but they didn’t all have him in it, fortunately. 21 jump street, transformers, this means war orr....the vow.

you make me feel like i'm intoxicated. Cain wasn't quite sure why he had been so insistent on another movie night after the last one they had. It wasn't because the last one had been bad in anyway, shape or form, it was a bit tense in the beginning but had warmed quickly. Both him and Izzy seemed to fall easily back into the old roles of their friendship. Except for that kiss. That clearly was in more then friendly terms, even if it only lasted a second. But, oh man, did Cain ever wish that he had been able to kiss her back before she pulled away. In the back of his head, the young man knew that it wouldn't have been right, even if he had continued the simple contact; there were two reasons behind it. One; she was a student and he was a teacher's assistant in which relationships where frowned upon and could probably get them both in big trouble. And two; she was his ex, last time Cain checked ex's weren't really suppose to make out like nothing happened between them. Well, some often got back together, but breaking off an engagement was different then a simple relationship. Not to mention that he moved across the country to forget about that life. But anyways, it was just easier to be friends. That's what this movie night was about, staying just friends even if he slyly hoped something would happen.
Just as he descended the stairs taking them at a steady brisk walk, he looked over at the door when the door bell sounded. Already? Before hopping down from the last step, Cain ran hand down his shirt to straighten it out. Mentally, he chastised himself for being bothered to check if he looked nice. Scoffing and rolling his green eyes at his actions, he wasted enough time that his visitor opened the door in their own. Taken aback by the fact that he hadn't locked his own front door, he missed Izzy walking in until she was next to him. Blinking, Cain glanced away from his door as he pushed his palm against it to shut it and looked over at his childhood friend. Sure he had seen her in much less clothes, but the fact that she was baring her midriff was still mind numbing. Bringing his attention back to the door as she spoke, he locked it and then smiled at her. "I don't mind at all." really, he didn't, she must know that by now.
Before she had a chance to move her way further into his house, Cain reached out and gently grabbed one of her wrists, pulled her smoothly back to him till his arms were wrapped around her shoulders in a hug. "Since I can't do this during school hours, might as well get all the hugs out now while I can." he breathed out softly against her ear as he held her. A smirk quirked up his lips as an idea struck him; suddenly he used his hold on her to pick her up and swing her around in a circle before setting her back on her own two feet and letting her go, a playful light in his green eyes, "There, I'm good now." With a chuckle he started to walk further into his home, spinning on his slick sock heels so he was walking backwards so he could face her, "Okay how about you pick what movie we watch, and I pick what snacks we eat. Deal?" A smile graced his face as he felt that rush of warm, comfortable feelings that he always got when he was in her company. That's why it was so easy to be friends with Izzy, it was simple and it was comfortable; and he loved that nice safety net. But there was niggling thought of wonder of what they could of had if they were still together.

this friday night we'll do it all again | Izzy smiled when he said it was fine, she pulled some hair behind her ear but noticed he was staring at her a little Is something wrong? she asked him. Okay so maybe her outfit was a little different than what she would usually wear, but the heat was getting to her, she didn’t want to wear anything that was going to make her really sweat and look...well ugly. Not that she could ever look ugly but what she had on wasn’t exactly what she would usually wear. She had basically just put it on because she couldn’t find anything else. Sure, she would be happy to wear the shorts, but the top was something she wasn’t that familiar with, she had done some modelling wearing it and been able to take the clothes home with her. she couldn’t say that she had worn it often, but in the moment she had just put it on. It wasn’t a plan of seduction, which was why she wasn’t telling anyone about what she was wearing. Luckily her roommate was out. In fact she had been lucky getting a roommate since she had been late transferring. She had been lucky in the fact that the girl wasn’t around right now, and the other night when Cain was around. She knew that some people may think there was more to their friendship.
She felt his arms around her and for some reason, she was taken aback, she knew it was just natural and didn’t really know why it had shocked her. She had done the same the last time they had hung out. She hugged him back, smiling. It had been so easy to fall back into the two of them being friends. She couldn’t believe that the reason she was actually here, if it got out that it could ruin it all. She squealed when he picked her up to spin her round. I should have been prepared for that she said with a smile. She had tried to say it in an annoyed tone but she just wasn’t very good at pretending to be angry. Now my hair is all messed up....god that was so not her, he would know that instantly but she kind of couldn’t help do and say a typically girlie thing, especially here in Beverly Hills. As far as Izzy was concerned most of them were blonde airhead bimbos. She would never say that out loud though, not that they would probably care...but Izzy was just too nice to ever even say something like that to anyone, even Cain. Though it could slip out. Of course Izzy wasn’t perfect. She kind of had some issues. She was still in her mind that she was far from perfect and sometimes she even thought she needed to lose weight. Of course she did like her food but if she had a binge one day, she would make sure she had a salad the next. It was just how she was.
You really want me to pick the movie? she grinned widely You totally know which one I will pick right? she smiled. Although I don’t know, which one has the most time with Channing topless she thought more to herself. Can we watch The Vow AND 21 Jump Street? she asked him with a smile. Come on, 21 Jump Street has the action, you know....all that good stuff that guys like and girls aren’t suppose to, but then The vow has all that romantic stuff that girls like, and guys aren’t suppose to like. Its a win win situation she thought she had put up a pretty good argument as to why they should watch both, and now she would just have to wait and see what he thought.

you make me feel like i'm intoxicated. His eyes had rolled when she mocked being upset with him, it was a fact that he brushed off. She was never the best actress and Cain could tell when she was faking anything. And contrary to her words, he knew for a fact that she wasn’t annoyed at all by what he did. If anything, she probably enjoyed it but he wasn’t going to point that out to her. When she mentioned the comment about her hair, the teacher’s assistant held in a laugh. Though, he snuck in a slight glance to look at her hair. Yeah, she was trying to mess with him because he brunette locks looked perfectly fine. Well that was his opinion, girls on the other hand could probably find a few hair out of place. Cain found it weird that girls could be much more picky and finicky about small details; such was the mystery or the female gender. As my confrontations he has had with one, there was a never a way to fully understand them.
Sadly, given the movie choices she had brought with her, Cain did already know which ones she wanted to watch. In a far off corner of his mind he cursed Channing Tatum. If he ever meet that man, Cain was certain they wouldn’t be friends just because of his hidden spite. Or maybe it was jealously, he wasn’t quite sure. It was an emotion that he hadn’t experienced in a long long time. It felt foreign almost. He didn’t like it. Keeping those thoughts pinned in his head, Cain flashed a knowing smile at Izzy as she went on to explain which one she wanted and why. It came as a little surprise when she wanted to watch both 21 Jump Street and The Vow. As she further expressed her thoughts on why it was a good idea, he let his expression slip away to a genuine smile. So, he was like the stereotypical guy that like action sequences over make-out ones, but he had a softer side that made him almost as evenly interested in romance as he was in action or crime. Only people that knew him well enough seemed to know that he was a romantic at heart. And honestly not too many people knew; probably just Izzy and a handful of guys back home and maybe a few here. He’d have to be pried open to really show his loving side. But, right now, all the girl standing at the center of his house had to do was smile or laugh in the special way that made her nose wrinkle up a bit and he was a puddle.
Sighing with a small smile, he turned away from her and ambled a slow pace into his open kitchen, waving a hand over his shoulder, "Sure, both works. If you have time for both." Mostly he was just concerned what kinds of questions her roommate would ask if she got back at some ungodly hour in the morning. Like 1 am or 2. He had been cautious the first time they had had a movie night, she nearly had to pull him through the halls in the dorms to get him into her room. But for all he knew, her roommate could have been in there or she could have walked in, especially during that kiss, things would have been awkward then. "Okay, if we watch two movies then we get to eat two snacks," a grin pulled across his lips as his eyes twinkled again, "I'm thinking various fruits the first movie and then to finish it up, ice cream the second movie?" Cain leaned over the island in his kitchen and raised an eyebrow at her. So the snack choice were different in his house; being the healthy man he was, he didn't want to eat junk the whole night, otherwise he'd have to ask the football coach if he could maybe participate in one practice just to work it all off. So, he opted for fruit, it was a nice and naturally sugared food and he happened to have a lot of it. Pushing his body off the counter, but letting his finger's still grip the edge as e leaned back, the man smile, "That sound good or would you rather I just bust out some chips?"

this friday night we'll do it all again | Izzy hadn’t really thought about the time, her roommate Oh....yeah she nodded My roommate is out anyway, she probably won’t be back till tomorrow she said casually. That girl was far too nosy for her liking. She was one of those girls who loved to know what the other was doing and where they were going and just gossip. Izzy just never had been that type of girl, like ever. Plus she was a daddy’s girl, okay so Izzy was a daddy’s girl, but not like this girl. She seemed to have everything she wanted, Izzy wasn’t jealous because she had a pretty nice life, she just didn’t see herself wanting to hang out with her roomie anytime soon, that was the honest truth. Izzy liked to be honest, but if the girl asked her to hang out with her she would probably have to come up with a good excuse, to avoid upsetting her since Izzy never wanted to do that. She just wasn’t that kind of person. She didn’t like being dishonest but she would have liked hurting the girls feelings a lot less, so to avoid that she would just make excuses. It wasn’t like Izzy was the partying type anyway. I don’t really care anyway, she is kinda....well just annoying she sighed.
She raised her eyebrow at him. Fruit? For a movie night? she said with a sort of smile really? she asked, wondering why he chose that, okay so he was healthy, but still, when you went to the cinema you didn’t order anything that was good for you. I am perfectly fine with the combination but I don’t think fruit and movies really go together she giggled slightly But since we had a deal I’ll go for it okay? she smiled at him. You bring the snacks over okay? I’ll put the movie in she told him, being a little bossy. He was like the only person she could feel comfortable bossing around. oh and are you going to offer me a drink? she asked him with a sweet smile. She wasn’t being rude, well she wasn’t trying to be, maybe a little forward in the matter, she was just simply asking. She went to put the dvd in the player and then came back to bring him over to the couch, deciding that she would carry some of the food and be of some use.
She put the food on the coffee table and pulled him down onto the couch with her; resting her head on his shoulder and linking her arm with his after she proceeded to turn the movie on. She wasn’t thinking that the position they were in was too close for comfort, it had just come naturally to her, she liked the fact that at least he had a house, she had no idea why she had gone with being in dorms. She wished that she had opted for her own housing, but that would have meant more money, her parents weren’t helping her out since they hadnt understood why she wanted to go back to see him as they put it. So Izzy was paying for her accommodation herself and they had agreed to pay for her tuition as long as she kept up the good grades which she knew very well that it would be no problem at all for her to do that since she always did do well. Nothing could ever stop her getting good grades, she had even skipped a grade because she was so clever, and then she spent a year before high school working so that she could get some money to pay for tuition, since she wasn’t going to let her father pay for it all. I hope you expect me to cry throughout the whole movie she told him simply. why did I choose it? she said, speaking to herself more than anyone else. Ohhhhh yeah, Channing she grinned He is so amazing and hot.

you make me feel like i'm intoxicated. Cain had to wonder if Izzy’s roommate was ever in her dorm room. The time he had been there, she wasn’t. And now, Izzy said she wouldn’t be back to the next morning, which in turn made him curious as to just what her roommate did so late in the evening. Though, he wasn’t one to judge; for crying out loud, he was the reason Izzy was back at the dorms so late. Most people would assume that there was something else going on behind closed doors then just watching movies. So, he let the topic go as she called her roommate annoying. More then likely, he had her roommate in one of the classes he sat in on, he had a steady rotation of about three classes anyways, but he’d personally never met the girl. And he wasn’t going to pry and ask the name.
He stayed in the kitchen and listened to her critique his choices. Oddly enough, her expression and almost smile made him nearly feel scolded. Before, back in New York, she never got snappy, not really even on a playful level; but now, Cain couldn’t help but find it a turn on (not that he’d tell her that) , the clearly knew what she wanted. A smile creaked up his lips as she dismissed his selection and decided to go along with him, settling it by starting that she started the movie. Teasingly, he wanted to growl out a 'yes, dear.' to her bossing him around, but given the fact that their intended marriage had failed, he settled for a grinning, “Fine, if you don’t want to see how sexy I can be eating a strawberry, that’s your problem,” his voice was just loud enough for her to hear and he turned around, lighthearted amusement in his tone, “chips and popcorn it is then.” As he stepped the cabinets, he heard her next request; she loved telling him what to do, it probably amused her now that she knew it was hard for him to say no to her. Mentally, he cursed himself for ever letting her learn that.
The tapping of her feet on his hard wood floors told him that she had wandered over toward the television to start the movie. As she was gone, he put a bag of popcorn into the microwave and shorted through his cabinets to find two bags of chips. It's a lot hard then it seems when only really healthy food can be found in his house, but amazingly he found some. At least, thankfully in his fridge he happened to have a few cans of soda, not a great selection but good enough. What he was most proud of, was that he had it all completely out and done sitting on the island counter in his kitchen when Izzy can back. A smug smile curled his lips, but it quickly turned in to an admiring one when she took some of the snacks to help him out; he hadn't even asked her either. Taking what was left of the food, Cain followed her and set it down on the coffee table. "Well, I think we're set-" the words where cut off as he was tugged sharply down, butt falling forcefully on the cushions of the sofa. What was that for? But before he could mange to speak, a feeling of someone almost nuzzling his shoulder mad him freeze before he heard her speak and relaxed, "If you're going to cry, should I change shirts to one I don't mind getting tear stains on?" a chuckle rumbled through his chest, "kidding."
The light in his eyes was cut short upon hearing her comment; he didn't know why it got to him so much but he'd have to suffer through her drooling over someone who was idolized as perfection to nearly every woman. But, he was willing to sit through, not just one, but two movies that had that actor in it just to make her happy.

this friday night we'll do it all again | She didn't feel bad dissing her roommate, the girls didn't really get along so it was okay to call her annoying. She would never be a straight up bitch though thats for sure. She just didn't have much in common with the girl and hated when she came back late from wherever she had been. She had never been into going out and partying that often, and yes...she did when she was a model but she often saw that more as business than going out. She never really drank, that was extremely rare, she didnt like the thought of not being in control of what she was doing, having other people tell her how crazy she had been the next day. No...she did not need that at all and certainly didn't want it. She had heard crazy stories about what happened to people when drunk. She just didn't want to get like that. Yes she would have a glass or two of wine, but that was it. She considered it to be a sensible decision because there were enough people out there doing what she wasn't. She needed to concentrate on her grades because that was why she was at college. If she let her grades slip that was it. Maybe she did want to model for a while before doing something a lot of people would call a 'proper job' but if she messed her chances up of graduating in her last year she wouldn't get that option.
Izzy heard his mutter and started to laugh awh no, your right, I will get to miss that she pouted at him. couldn't you just do it anyway? she asked. I mean you will miss seeing how I can eat a strawberry too she commented. There was a time when she would never have been able to say anything like that, not even to Cain, who had been her fiancé. Some people may have found that odd but she had never been that kind of person. Obviously with her looks people had paid her compliments and even though she didn't really believe it herself, it had at least given her some new found confidence. She liked the fact that she could play around with him and tease him. It was all in good fun, and she didn't mean anything else by it. Maybe she was flirting, well she kind of was, but she didn't even realise it as usual, yet she would always realise when guys were coming onto her, there were times when she thought it was creepy and she hated it, and often didn't really know how to get herself out of those situations since she never dealt with that in high school.
She was perfectly happy in her position, but she hoped he was too you dont mind me leaning on you right? she asked him. He then talked about changing his shirt and him playfully hit him I'm sure your shirt will be fine, unless you want to just strip off and change shirts if you wanna change into one you don't care about she shrugged. As they started to watch the movie she looked up at him can I ask you a question? she asked him, then proceeded with the question. why are you agreeing to watch this? she asked him I mean on our last movie night we watched G.I Joe, because you wouldn't watch any other one, that was to make me feel better but...why again? she said looking at him. I can tell you don't like him very much, I mean I don't know why... she laughed your willing to sit through not one, but two movies with him in it though, so why? she asked cos no offence, I wouldn't want to sit through two of your action movies....

you make me feel like i'm intoxicated. He quirked an eyebrow at her when she shot back that he wouldn’t get to see how appealing she could be eating a strawberry either. Touche. Sneaking a glance over at her from the corner of his eye, he held back a frown the threatened his face. Damn, now he really wanted to see just how alluring she could be teasing a red berry between her lips. It sent a tingle up his spine. She was innocent, but at the same time, she wasn’t and it was driving him crazy inside. But he found it so attractive. Sure the Izzy that he had proposed to was similar to the one in front of him, but there just seemed to be a little bit more spice mixed into her now. Old feelings fumbled in his chest as the new ones just caused more of a fuss; taking a breath he cleared his head. Nope, this couldn’t be happening; he had forgotten about his life in New York and his life in New York had forgotten him, he hadn’t contacted his family in years, in years, wanting his old life back just couldn’t be happening. It was a thought that never crossed his mind till she came back. He wanted to curse, but instead bit his tongue and played dumb with a cute smile, shielding the turmoil in his eyes from her. He was a master at putting up walls, had been able to since his father taught him; he just hated that he had to do it to her. At least for right now.
Finding that he was more staring blankly at the television screen then really watching what was happening, Cain blinked a few times and shifted, forgetting for a moment that she was leaning right up against him. Angling his head at her question he furrowed his bark eyebrows before shaking his head and smiling, to him, her head on his shoulder was near bliss. He wasn’t complaining and he probably never would. Just friends, that’s it they were friends. Colleagues technically since she was student and he worked with the school she attended. Resisting the urge to roll his eyes at her other comment, he settled on a slightly more then smug, “Again with wanting me to strip, if you keep this up I’m going to think you only want me around for my body.” He wiggled his eyebrow and nudged her playfully with his shoulder that she was leaning on. Moments like these, he wished he had a camera, pictures do always last longer.
Pulling his attention from the movie once more, he gave a small, “Huh?” when she said she wanted to ask him something. As he listened to her explain in a longer reason then she really needed, Cain lifted one hand a draped it over the back of the couch behind her. The little ramble before the real question was cute and the smile that appeared across his face couldn’t have been helped. Her inquisitive doe eyes only made it more genuine. “I’m sitting here now, watching enough Channing Tatum to make me gag,” there was a quick pause to relax his expression back to something soft, “because it makes you happy. I mean, I think I can deal with it if you really want to watch it.” Using the hand he had wrapped around the back of the couch, he lifted it to her shoulders and gave her a small one arms hug. Releasing, he continued “I’d rather you enjoy what we are watching then force you to watch something you didn’t like, and my actions movies are perfectly watchable, thank you very much.” The last part of his statement turned matter-of-fact with a hint of amusement. A breathy chuckle parting his lips as he shook his head and looked back at the screen.

this friday night we'll do it all again | She grinned when he didn’t really say anything, he just saw the smile on his face which told her all she needed to know. She felt things were going well, she was sure there was something between them, but she didn’t know if something was going to happen, she didn’t know if something should happen. She was going to fight it as hard as she could, she kind of wanted to give in though, she just never usually made the first move, she didn’t want to, and evem though she didn’t really know it, she was flirting some of the time, maybe she should carry on doing what she was doing, it seemed to be working. Though she didn’t know if she trusted him one hundred percent, but maybe if they got involved again it would make her gain that trust. But then there was the fact that she was a student and he was the teaching assistant. It sucked but they would have to be careful, but she still wanted to get involved with him again, eventually, maybe. If they could keep it quiet she would, and Izzy wasn’t the type of girl who gossiped or even told many people her secrets. Cain would probably be about the only one who would know, give or take maybe one or two people.
She blushed at his comment hmm she said with no actual reply. She was thinking of something to say and she smirked would that be a bad thing? she asked. She had to admit that it wasn’t true, but for some reason the comment just flowed out of her mouth, like she didn’t really know she was saying it, it was weird how she had changed, she was trying to be that same girl but the comments kept coming out. Though I really don’t think that would be right, I mean it’s not nice she said with a shrug. That was kind of lame and she had to let out a small giggle. But if you want to strip, then I guess I can’t complain. But this isn’t a booty call, we’re just hanging out she laughed as friends... she silently said the last bit, maybe she did want more between them but she wasn’t going to push it, although she could be making herself fairly obvious. Some girls would be throwing themselves at him at this point, but Izzy wasn’t most girls, she didn’t really care either, because at least she was different from the plastic Barbie dolls and wild and out of control party girl wannabe it girls around Beverly Hills. Izzy was just glad she could kind of escape, as much as she loved modelling she didn’t want have the press around her all the time, and she would make sure that didn’t happen.
plus you can’t say no to me she added I must have some kinda magic spell on you she smirked. you’re saying that, but I’m being selfish because I won’t watch what you want, but I am perfectly happy to make you watch what you don’t want to watch, you know? she smiled Wow, that sounds so complicated she laughed. As she snuggled more into him she put her arm round him and pulled him closer. She wasn’t going to kiss him, she just wanted him close. She then pulled her legs up onto the couch to make herself even more comfortable. I’ve really missed this she said just loud enough for him to hear. She felt pretty content, like she could just stay there all night, but obviously she had to go home. She let out a sigh, things were so complicated, life was complicated and their friendship, relationship....whatever you wanted to call it....was complicated. Could nothing ever be easy? Obviously not. Someone didn’t want her to have it easy in life and that annoyed her.

you make me feel like i'm intoxicated. Would it be a bad thing if he stripped? Well, just taking the whole situation at face value; no, no it wasn’t a bad idea. In fact it made it almost seem like a wonderful idea. But then again, Cain didn’t want her to think that he only wanted her around so that he could show off. Not to mention that things had the possibility to go a lot further then a simple movie night. Don’t get him wrong, it wouldn’t be bad if that happened but he just didn’t want to have that happen like this. But now that situation was starting to form in his head, and it was the last thing he wanted to be thinking about around her. He chuckled at her words and played it off like she was doing. He still didn’t understand the pull of his feelings for her, they were old mixing with new and hell was it confusing. The only thing keeping his mouth shut about that topic was the fact that it would frowned upon by the school if he started seeing a student. He’d rather be able to be with her publically then having to keep it hidden. Again, he wasn’t about the breech that door, yet.
He sighed with mock exaggeration when she brought up the fact that she had him wrapped around her little finger. She seemed to find it cute and funny, while Cain found it hard, sometimes saying no was good but he could never bring himself to do it. A laugh started to vibrate through his chest when she explained it, it was overly explained in a complicated way; totally his Izzy. As he felt the pressure of her against him get slightly heavier, he smiled, “It’s probably because you enjoy seeing me uncomfortable, I think you find it cute.” Without even a thought to it, the young man lifted his back off the couch some so it would be easier for her to reach around him, it wasn’t until he relaxed into the cushions once again that he realized he did it. It was surprising for a second, things just felt natural, and the familiar sense of bliss spread through him.
He almost thought that he was imagining it when she spoke, it was close to a whisper, but he could hear it. And before he could stop himself, “Me too.” spilled out of his lips in a similar soft tone. Green eyes never left the screen and the movie was starting to roll along, in retrospect a romance movie probably wasn’t the best choice to watch with his ex, all cuddled up on the couch, who he could or could not still have feelings for. Maybe he should have picked the movie instead, not that The Vow was bad. Pulling one of his arms around her shoulders again, Cain brushed his fingers over her shoulder, forgetting that she wasn’t wearing the most covering of clothes and ghosting his fingertips along her bare shoulder. “You remember that night during spring break,” he turned his gaze to face her and continued, “when we were out late just looking at the stars while we sat on my roof and I fell asleep and you drew all over my face and stomach?” He chuckled as the memory came flooding back into his mind, amusement present in his words as he finished, “Yeah, that is probably one thing that I don’t miss.” So many memories; some better then most, but he loved them all…most of them. Smiling at her he made sure it was genuine.

this friday night we'll do it all again | Throwing the comments back and forth and having them being playful with one another kind of made Izzy wish that more could happen, and the more she thought about it, the more she was trying to fight it. It would be so easy for her to give into the urges and act upon the feelings she was getting but the damn voice in her head was telling her it was wrong. That she couldn’t do it, or that she shouldn’t do it more like, she could technically do it. But would it be that big a deal even if the school did find out? They had been friends first? Well she guessed it probably would, maybe she could quit the class she was in where he taught. That would be something she could think about. Though she didn’t really want to, but if it came to that then she would do. She shook the thoughts out of her head. Not even knowing why she was actually thinking of this all. She needed to talk herself out of it not talk herself into doing it. dammit she muttered to herself. She really needed to control herself. She hadn’t expected this to happen, not at all.
Izzy shrugged well it is cute she said shooting him a cute smile herself. but I don’t exactly enjoy seeing you uncomfortable she shrugged. She smiled when he lifted his back so she could snuggle and cuddle easier. She was so content right now. The only thing playing on her mind was his damn father, she hadn’t heard from him the last few days, but that didn’t mean that he wasn’t still pursuing what he wanted. However, there was no way Isabelle was willing to help him now, even if he hadn’t been the reason Cain had cheated on her, it had to do with the insecurities he had gotten from his father, so Izzy did blame him somewhat, and also because she knew from day one it had been a bad idea, things were working out nicely, but if it came out now or even later it would just make her look like such a bitch. That wasn’t who she was at all. Would he let her explain? Probably not, she didn’t let him explain why he had cheated straight away, maybe if she had they would still be together, married even. She brushed the thought from her mind before it caused her to get upset. She wasn’t going to let her thoughts of him ruin the evening.
Along with the sexual tension that was in the room, when he said he had missed them snuggling too, She thought there was some hope for them, whatever she was wanting from that she didn’t know. It didn’t have to go too far, but once there was a kiss, it may be hard to avoid anything else, which was why she had to resist, she knew it couldn’t just happen. She didn’t want it to be a ‘within the moment’ thing. That wasn’t the type of girl she was, and it wasn’t how she had been brought up. It did appear to her that watching a movie such as ‘The Vow’ with an ex, cuddled on the sofa was rather strange, but it just seemed so normal to her, that was weird, that it didn’t seem weird at all. She smiled at the memory than he mentioned and nodded yeah, you got me back though....now what did you do? she said asking him to remind, her just because it was fun. She was looking at him trying to be stern but she couldn’t help giggling I think what I did wasn’t as bad as that, you were so mean to me! Remember I actually stopped talking to you for like...an hour An hour was a long time for them not to talk unless they weren’t around each other, they always seemed to be talking through some communication though. Back then though things were so simple though, he wasn’t a teaching assistant, he was her neighbour, best friend, boyfriend and also for some time, her fiancée, things just weren’t the same, maybe she was trying to relive the past and make them the same, but she couldn’t help the way she felt, she couldn’t change it either and she didn’t want to either, if she was reading him right, he was feeling kind of the same as well. Things were just, complicated.

you make me feel like i'm intoxicated. Or so she claimed that she didn't enjoy seeing him squirm. Cain would beg to differ on that but, if that's what she wanted him to believe, then he could settle. At least he had gotten her to admit that part of her that that having him on edge was cute. He knew her well enough for that. One thing that he didn't know about he, however, was the reason why she was here in California. She had stayed in New York last time he checked, and he had checked the day before he left, of course he had stopped by the house and was meet at the door by her parents who didn't even let him through the threshold. He was sure that her parents never even told her that he stopped by, mostly because they hated his guts more then there daughter did. If that was possible. But regardless, he wasn't certain why she had moved across the country. Sure UCLA was a great academic place, and maybe she had just transferred because there were more modeling possibilities. Nevertheless, he knew her parents probably weren't thrilled since that's where he told then he was going when he left.
Just sitting there, on his couch, felt...normal. And he watched as the movie progressed a while, it was odd when he actually thought about the action on screen. He had never seen The Vow before, but what he could understand so far was that the couple had been married, something happened and now they couldn't make things work since she had no memory. Creepy. it was somewhat similar to him and Izzy on the couch. They had been planning to get married, something happened and at that time, they couldn't make it work. The whole loosing the memory thing had nothing in their story though. Glancing back at when she stated talking about what he did in retaliation for she drawing on him, Cain smirked and he chuckled, recalling exactly what he did. But then his smile broke into a look of disbelief when she tried to justify what she did compared to him. “Hey, I only poured paint on your head once, and that washed right out.” He shoved her playfully as he continued, kicking his feet up to rest over hers on the length of the couch, “the marker on my face, however took five days to get rid of. You were the one who decided to use permanent marker. I had to go back to school with ‘LOSER’ and ‘SUCKER’ all over me. Oh, and 'SEXY' was spread across my abdomen, that was my favorite to show off.” A hint of laughter in his voice as he spoke and settled back into the cushion.
"And that hour was the worst hour of my life," He paused and then furrowed his eyebrows in thought, recalling all the words and pictures she drew on him and just how he explained to to his parents. Didn't go over quite well, but he survived. Putting his feet back on the floor Cain shifted his body to face her, trying to hide his mischievous expression, but failing, "You remember how I got you talking to me again?" Green eyes twinkled as he looked over her, now not so concerned about the movie as his attention was solely hers. An eyebrow quirked an prompted her for an answer, hands poised up and near her sides, smirk hanging off of his lips. He use to tickle her all the time when they were kids, when they were a couple even, he was fairly certain she knew what was coming. He inched forward, he knew her weak spots, he just hoped that she suddenly hadn't out grown them. Nearly purring a laugh, he spoke, "You know what comes next, don't you?" And with that, he reached forward and dusted his fingers over the side of her rib cage, to tickle her.

this friday night we'll do it all again | When she was around Cain, right now she wasn’t thinking of the past, well she wasn’t until now, her mind crossed back to the day he told her and she sighed. She hadn’t given him a chance, and now here they were. It felt like a second chance to me, something that she never thought she would give him, especially when he had just left without an explanation, or so she thought that had been the case. She had been so upset when she heard he’d just left, even if she had told him never to speak to her again, she wished that he’d said goodbye to her. She was slowly starting to think she could trust him again though, and there was obviously something between them, they would have to be blind not to see there was still a spark. It was sad to say that she didn’t think that they would be able to be together, at least not normally. If they did get into a relationship it would have to be kept secret, they wouldn’t be able to do the normal coupley things easily, maybe they would be able to somehow, they would just have to be discreet about it, she would just have to disguise herself well. She was sure there was something they would be able to do, but it wasn’t like he would be able to go to her dorm since she had a roommate, he had come round once before and she was lucky that the girl hadn’t been around.
Looking back at the movie, it was the bit that she always cried, when she’d lost her memory, she didn’t remember him who would want to forget that face she said more to herself than to him as well, it kinda made her think about what would happen if that was their situation, it would be scary, shit scary. Going back to a life that you knew nothing about? That would be terrifying, being in a house with a man you couldn’t remember, having to try and relive the life and go on with everyday things. She couldn’t imagine it to be honest and she knew she was lucky that it hadn’t happened to her, but she kept thinking about the day he told her, if she had let him explain, if they had talked it out, would they still be together? When they discussed the pranks they pulled on each other she scoffed about the paint oh yeah.... she nodded it washed right out....after like ten times! she shoved him back I had like red hair for like a week! she told him. everyone called me ‘ginger’ she frowned. and you didn’t make things any easier, you said I should go to the Halloween dance as pippi longstocking cos the red looked cute on me. She gave him a playful glare. She wouldn’t let him forget the prank that easily, and he wasn’t going to let it go and think that it wasn’t that big a deal.
Oh that was a classic she grinned. really? Sexy? Hmm I seriously do not remember that at all she told him with a grin have no idea why I would write that she said with a smile. you obviously enjoyed that she said. I mean I do remember you showing off and all that she rolled her eyes slightly. She thought he was making a big deal out of nothing. what about all those times you snuck out of my room through my window down the drainpipe she said to him. and that one time my dad caught you she said to him. he grounded me for a week and I wasn’t suppose to see you, apart from at school he said he told your parents and they did the same, I mean really...it wasn’t like we were underage or anything she shrugged. Her parents weren’t quite as bad as his, they were just old fashioned, and she’d heard they were having troubles with her sister rebelling or something. She knew it wouldn’t be as bad as they were making out, but her sister had always been different to her. she didn’t necessarily see that as a bad thing though.
She mock pouted at him aww, poor baby she laughed at him. it must have been so hard without me she grinned. He then reminded her of how he got her to talk to him again, she was so ticklish, it had been the perfect plan, and somehow, even though she still had a tint of red in her hair, she had gotten over it and forgiven him. She always did forgive him back then when they had silly little fights. The cheating had been one that had seemed to cross the line though. When he tickled her she started laughing no, no no stop! she said through her giggles. She rolled off the couch and then jumped back up, sitting back down and looking at him seriously. do you think, if I had let you explain back then, and you hadn’t just left without telling me, we would still be together now? she asked him.

you make me feel like i'm intoxicated. He winced. Okay, the fact that it had taken her ten rinses to wash the paint out, he hadn’t known about. She hadn’t told him back then and he hadn’t asked. He was too busy laughing over the initial prank to really care at that point. Though after the paint was splattered all over her, he had remembered that, being the hormonal teenage boy he was with a deep liking for his best friend, he had offered to help clean her off like really clean her off. He had even taken off his shirt and gave it to Izzy to wear when ever she finally got out of her paint stained clothes. But by that point, his father had showed up and took that situation in the worse possible way and dragged him away before anything could happen, complaining about how his son was going to end up as some stripper if he kept chasing after girls and running around shirtless and not getting serious about his future. That argument never made any sense. Well, he hadn’t ended up as a stripper, so that was a plus, and another way to prove his father wrong. When she reminded him of his little joke about Pippi Longstocking, he smiled slightly smugly. It was true, he did look really cute.
A stifled laugh threatened to break his control over his expression, he hadn't wanted to interrupt her as she explained her side of the story, but the memories were all too well recalled and it was just to funny. As she rejected the responsibility about writing 'SEXY' on him, Cain frowned teasingly. Though, admittedly part of him wanted to just lean back, pull up his shirt and ask her how in the world, the muscles he display across his torso wasn't hot. Sure, when he was a teenager, it wasn't as developed as right now in the twenties, but still, it was damn close. Besides, most of the other high school girls liked it back then, why wouldn't she?
The voices on the tv in front of him were blocked out as she talked, bringing to mind the many night-time visits he payed to her window. Climbing up that drain pipe was tough, and at first neither him or Izzy thought that he'd be able to actually attempt it. But he was determined to get up to her room, so he eventually was able to get up without any loud noises or fear of falling. He'd be brave for her, and he was. Playfully he gave her an exasperated look, "Well, what was I suppose to do? I wanted to give you a goodnight kiss, wasn't my fault it turned into more then a simple kiss, as I recall you were pulling at my shirt, missy." green eyes sparkled, a smile forming, "then your little sister walked in, bouncing off the walls because she thought I had come over for a sleep over." Penny had been as innocent and as cute as hell, but she ruined everything. Cain had had no intention of sleeping over, he was a good boy with Izzy around, though the daggers her father gave him when he heard what Penny said, he didn't want to know if Cain was a good gentleman or not. He just wanted him out of his daughter's room. "That's when your father entered the room. And what did you do? You used me as a human shield and hid behind me, blushing, leaving me to explain to your father why exactly I had my hands and my lips all over his daughter and why, on earth, I let little Penny see us like that." Oh, and the lecture his parents gave him when he had got home; life was cruel for a teenager.
It really was the worst hour of his life. She didn't talk to him, didn't even look at him. Had nothing to do with him at all even if he sat down right next to her. Yelling, frustrating anger he could deal with, fighting he could deal with; but out of everything it was silence that made him feel the worse. Just goes to show how well Izzy knew him, she knew exactly how to get to him. Thank god, he had got her laughing. Stopping his actions when she had rolled off the couch and on to the floor, he looked down at her, a wide and most likely goofy smile plastered on his face. But then the air between them shifted when she stood back up, it grew thick and serious, almost something tangible that he wanted to just push away and avoid and go back to the laughing. He flicked his eyes away to look any where else but her, his head only slightly shaking, "I don't know," he swallowed and then shrugged, "I really don't know, part of me wants to say yes we would still be together but then in the back of my head I think, even if I had explained it to you, you still would have been upset. Because I was your first love, your first, ya'know, your first everything and I'd broken your heart and made you cry." resting his elbows on his knees, he placed his hands over his face and then bowed his head to grip his fingers in his black hair, eyes closed as a sigh escaped him.
Indulging in the silence surrounding them before breaking it, "They said you weren't home," eyes opened and he turned his head to look at her, hands still messing up his hair, "I saw your car out front but your parents still said you weren't home. I offered to wait for you but they wouldn't let me inside the house." Blocking the emotions behind his eyes again, he withdrew from his posture and leaned into the arm of the couch, casting his eyes to his hands as he wrung then, a sad sort of smile holding his lips, "I parked in that special spot on the side of the street that you can see by looking out your window, I thought maybe you'd see my car and want to talk. I really did come to tell you I was leaving, I wanted to say goodbye." Scratch what he said before, the hour he spent trying to convince her mother and father just to let him see her, was the worst hour of his life.

this friday night we'll do it all again | The movie now was the least of her attentions, she wasn’t even thinking about it and she didn’t really care now, she was having way too much fun thinking about all their memories. There sure was a lot of them and that was something she was thankful for. She was glad that she at least had them because she really had loved him, a lot and she wanted something good to remember him by...to remember them by. If she didn’t have the memories then she wouldn’t really have anything from them now they were no longer together. She had to admit though, the prank he had pulled....well more like pranks, he had always redeemed himself so she always forgave him, well he knew how to get her to forgive him....that and maybe she was just a pushover. But of course there had been that time when he had cheated and that had been too much, she just couldn’t forgive him fir that, well not then she couldn’t but now it seemed so far behind her that she had already forgiven him without actually doing so, but she still remembered it, she still didn’t really understand why he had to do it, but whatever, he had and she had put it behind her, focusing on how they were now. Not they could be called anything in particular, they were just friends, she had to deal with that right now because she wanted him to make the move, if he wanted it as well, she wanted him to let her know, therefore she would try and hint, maybe that would work. Then again, guys were clueless when it came to that kind of thing and she wasn’t much better. She had no idea how she could be obvious with him, since guys often approached her now anyway and she would always let them down gently.
oh, so you just came up the drainpipe every night for a goodnight kiss? she nudged him. how come it was always more? she grinned. When he said she was the one pulling at his shirt she shook her head hey it wasn’t my fault I found you irresistibly sexy she said without thinking, she had to blush and then cover her mouth as she giggled, then she just shrugged. Even now she found him sexy, she just couldn’t help it. you pulled all the moves to get me to do that, you know....knew my weak spots she laughed. and you knew that I could never resist you when you came over because it was like you were my prince charming and I was rapunzel trapped in the castle. All I needed was the long hair for you to climb up, instead you got the drainpipe she smiled at the way she had described his visits. It kind of was like she was a princess trapped in the tower, but she hadn’t known that back then he wouldn’t turn out to be her prince charming. The thought of that almost made her cry, she could feel it inside her and her face turned to sadness as she let a tear fall down her face, and she looked at the ground and brushed it away, putting some hair behind her ears, so that he wouldn’t notice.
I seriously thought she was going to stick around with us and want to watch movies she said with a smile remembering her sister wanting to hang around. I really should have gotten a lock on my door but they wouldn't allow it she told him. Izzy and her sister had gotten along a lot better back then, now it seemed that her sister resented her somehow because of their parents, but that was just her opinion, she could be imagining it, the point was that when it came down to it, they still loved each other, and that would never change. Izzy would pretty much do anything for her sister and she had always tried to stand up to her parents when it came to it, not that she was very good at it, but Penelope really was not a problem child, not at all. She then laughed at him slightly when he reminded her that she had cowered away. it was easy for me to use you as a shield, because I knew he would be so much worse with me, and you know that too she smiled at him. I still got ‘banned’ from seeing you, not that it actually stopped me she grinned. Yes, sneaking out to see her boyfriend in a mutual meeting place was about as rebel as she got, and she actually thought that had been pretty rebellious of her, because she never disobeyed her parents like ever, but really that was just the typical teenage thing to do, then she had been able to sneak back in somehow, she didn’t even how she had been able to do it. that’s why I was so happy when you said you hadn’t gotten rid of your car she winked at him.
Things got more serious when she asked if they would still be together. She nodded, what he was saying was true. He was making so much sense. She had no idea herself if she had stuck around with him if she had let him explain. I would like to think we would be together she smiled slightly maybe married she shrugged and looked at him. maybe we would even have a family, I don’t know....it could have happened, but it didn’t she said to him sadly. I kinda wish things had been a whole lot different for us, you know? But who knows with our parents, they probably would have found a way for us to be unhappy she sighed. Yes, you did break my heart she said honestly. Then she moved closer to him and put an arm around him to comfort him. It may have seemed a little weird in a way but to her it seemed okay, she wanted to let him know that she was okay with everything now. it’s okay now, we’re okay now she smiled. She had to reassure him that everything was okay, since she could tell he wasn’t so comfortable with talking about all that, but who could blame him?
She pulled away from him, and let him tell her about the night he left. WHAT? she said. Okay she didn’t even know why she was that surprised. She shook her head I don’t even know why I am surprised she told him. it’s not likely that I was out, you know I wasn’t exactly miss popular back then, and I refused to leave my room for days she’d told him. the only person I would see was Lola she told him. Lola was her other best friend, her best girl friend. and she had been the one who had helped her through everything that had happened. I’m sorry you didn’t get to say goodbye she said and turned to face him fully, then she went to hug him. Once she pulled away she just looked at him for a moment, right into his eyes...
